SIGNAL FLAG ONLINE #29

CHRYSLER JEEP DETROIT APBA GOLD CUP July 8-11, 1999
Friday July 6 1999

*** RECENT RACES: NORFOLK & TRI-CITIES

Since the Gold Cup race, Dave Villwock in Miss Budweiser tied Chip Hanauer in Miss PICO for 3 wins on the season at Norfolk, then went on to make it 4-3 at the Tri-Cities (WA) event.

During the Tri-Cities event, Chip rode up a roostertail and flipped the Miss PICO. Word is that this was just a racing incident, he wasn't cut off. The rescue crews did their job and took all the proper precautions, putting him in a neck brace for a trip to the hospital for x-rays which were all negative. The hull was repaired for the final heat and Mike Weber drove Miss PICO to a second place finish! The Leland camp reports that Chip will be ready for the Seattle race.

*** DETROITER MARK TATE: AT THE WHEEL AGAIN

Mark Tate has signed on as the U-2 Harvey Motorsports driver, relieving Steve David who has left the position sooner than expected to spend more time with his growing business. Go Mark!
