A scoring correction for the Inflatables from Kevin Gilday .. There was some confusion in the finals. Boat 72 spit out its riders in the final lap and 16, 27 and 25 stopped (supposed to be an auto red flag) the other boats were coming out of the third turn and didn't see the spin. Both of the guys from 72 are ok but were required to take a ride in the rescue boat. The 27, 16 and 25 were in the Bandit class and improperly scored, that happens when you have two classes running together. For info the official results (without the times): #1 16 Mike Christiani and James Christiani #2 27 Beth Gilday and Carol Urban (yep an all female team) #3 25 Andy Sallee and L. Winfield [Originally shown as DNFs, I gather that this Bandit class was scored by their position at the time of the red flag.] For those in the Detroit area, I am pretty sure the Sylvan Lake hydroplane races are this upcoming Sunday, July 19th. I went last year and had a great time. No admission fee. Get a map out and find Sylvan Lake a bit northwest of Bloomfield... enter the subdivision at Telegraph & Orchard Lake Roads.
