One notable moment today was when Mark Tate had the closest call (no double entendre was originally intended) with the Waterworks seawall that I have EVER known of. I thought an incident 2 years ago was close but it pales in comparison. For those unfamiliar with 'the point', it's a concrete wall on the outside of the exit of the Roostertail turn - the tightest turn on the UHRA circuit. There is a bouy 10 feet off the point and Tate came out of the turn with the bouy on his LEFT sponson! Most people couldn't believe the boat came out without a scratch. No-one will ever come closer without consequences. Anyone have a photo for us to post? (credit & copyright will be acknowledged!)

Also important is a half-note about Steve Weber. During a race today in the UL Pegasus / Bad Frog he was injured to some degree in an incident that was not apparent to observers. News was not available even hours later, but I overheard that it may have had to do with water in the cockpit. I assume ULs have a bottom hatch and perhaps it blew open... if you know more, please tell me so everyone can know.
