THUNDER NEWS #1

CHRYSLER JEEP DETROIT APBA GOLD CUP July 9-12, 1998

Hello everyone and welcome to the new SODT Email newsletter. We're just getting revved up in time for the race.

Our first news is from a few months back: Chrysler Jeep has renewed their 96-98 title sponsorship through 2001! As a fan myself, I'm excited to find this level of commitment from a world-class sponsor. For those of you that haven't been able to attend during Chrysler's sponsorship.. I just wish you could see.

While we rev up, don't forget:

* The latest addition to our WWW Photo Gallery - dozens of great photos straight from Fred Alter's scrapbooks. These are "must see" pictures from the 50's through the 70's. Click on the first link in our Gallery.

* Friday (July 10) is FREE day in the Waterworks Park bleachers. What better way to introduce a friend to the the sport?! Friday's feature is the Automotive Gold Cup race between the Unlimited Lights and the Grand Prix boats (~5pm).

I'd like to hear from each of you - what do you want to hear about in this newsletter? Also, be sure let me know when you have info that should appear here or on our web site. Soon I'll post information regarding related events.
