CHRYSLER JEEP DETROIT APBA GOLD CUP July 6-9, 2000
*** INAUGURAL DETROIT RIVER FESTIVAL 2000 - JULY 22
In SFO #40 I had the dates off by one, the event is July 21-23,
with the big day being Saturday July 22.
*** THANKS TO CHRIS COLLINS AND ALLWEBSPORTS.COM
It was great to have AllWebSports step up and offer to webcast
the Gold Cup weekend. Thanks to Chris Collins, Randy Adams and
Glenn Andersen of AllWebSports, as well as Jim Wulff and Phil
Giubileo of WorldStream. Extra thanks goes to Bob Larson, Brian
Larkin and Matt Shieko of Roscor (the camera crew). These guys,
especially Bob, applied a ton of elbow grease to get things done.
Also appreciated was the camerawork of SODT volunteer Gene Casaroll.
We had a technical glitch which delayed the broadcast of a
Saturday afternoon segment, but other than that it went well.
I know that a number of viewers had trouble on Sunday, our fault
but more managerial than technical, and we learned a lot towards
next year.
Some broadcast segments have already been archived and we'll let
you know when they're ready for replay.
*** MANY THANKS TO CHUCK MOORE
Once again, Chuck did a great job in his coverage of our race.
He too was always on the move (or furiously typing in news), and
he kept the webcast crew well informed of changes in the
schedule. Our hats off to him!
At http://www.hydros.org is a new feature, "Web Watch". Click
on NewsWire then Web Watch. You'll find a list of new hydro
related stories and info on the web, updated daily by Chuck.
*** OFFICIAL TIMING AND SCORING REPORT IS AVAILABLE
Go to http://www.thunderfest.com/news/index.html and click on
"Download the official Timing & Scoring Report". Note that the
times reported for the Unlimiteds and Unlimited Lights are not
official, those come from the UHRA. This is a collection of
the .DOC files in a .ZIP archive format.
